It's harvest time on the Palouse - that means dust in the air & combines driving down the highway. And they have the right of way, LOL - well, if one judges by size, they certainly, do.
The garden is producing more veggies - I put snap beans in my crockpot of soup this morning & we've been having fresh lettuce & cucumbers for quite a while. There's fresh beets & carrots to round it out for now. I've harvested all of the garlic & it's drying - I got so much I'm going to have to find someone to give some to as a gift :~). Looking forward to onions & tomatoes soon.
I've joined the "Socks For Soldiers" group on Yahoo Groups. No matter what your opinion of the war - and the group is entirely a-political !!! - it is a great thing to give something to our soldiers to show that they are not forgotten & we appreciate them. I'm an old war protester from the Vietnam conflict - but even back then, I supported the soldiers with letters & luck to them. I still don't support wars - they never solve anything - but the men & women who are in uniform do need our prayers & support.
OK, off the soap box, but do see the link.
