If you live in the west you will know of what I am speaking.
It is supposed to ~ 102F today here up on the Palouse & even hotter down in the valley of the Snake & Clearwater Rivers.
It has been so dry & hot that even tho' I water my gardens & berries every day, the strawberries just shrivelled up dry before they got ripe - so we didn't get very many. I'm hoping it will cool some before the raspberries are here, but I already have black rasps' and they are looking a bit peak-ed.
Also, there is a bad outbreak of codling moth due to the heat, so I'm going to have to find some sort of not too toxic spray for my apples & pears, or we won't get any of the either :~(.
Here is a picture of my latest socks - they were a KAL for the Friendly Sock Group. The pattern is "Big Yellow Taxi", page 5 in the book Friendly Socks II. So, I nicknamed mine Big 'Pink' Taxi - they are made of leftover yarn from other sock projects. I learned that when one does Fair Isle knitting on socks, one must carry the yarn MORE loosely. The socks do go over my heels - I did get them that loose - but they surely could be better, LOL.
