tour de fleece

I finished the first 1/3 of the Blue Velvet roving & put the single ply onto a bobbin - I plan to spin the other 2/3's and make a 3-ply that I hope will be small enough for sock yarn. Here are photos of day 7, 8, & 10 (on the bobbin).

My day of rest was day 9 due to our mis-adventure out in the Blue Mountains - we went up to see if the huckleberries were ready & got a flat tire on the pickup. "the Postman" had left the jack and tools in "the Tomato Queen" (his 1966 Buick convertible) and we were just getting ready to try to call road-side assistance when a local resident came by & offered to help. It was a really good thing as the spare tire in this model is rather difficult to get from under the pickup bed ("Sir Chevy Chase" is a 1997 longbed model) & the DH would never have been able to figure it out even if we DID have tools. We didn't get home until 7:30 PM & still had to do chores, etc. before bed, so my spinning time was nixed that evening.
Oh yes, we have named all our vehicles if you hadn't already caught on: you've seen "Howard Harley" before & we have "Peter Prius", too, LOL.
Picture of my progress on the Carefree tdf-KAL, too
