Oops - break

Did not get back here for few days. Busy as per usual, but also just not feeling up to sharing much.
Do you ever get those blah days? I do and it really bugs the heck out of me as I can't seem to figure how to get them to go away.

Any-hoody-how, I got the #2 GS's shirt nearly done, just sew on buttons and put in hem and we're done. Hope it still fits as they grow like weeds at this age.
I made bread and yogurt on Sunday and we got a bit of house-cleaning in, too. 'tP' got the lawn mowed before it started to rain. We're glad it rained, a nice soaking one, too, as now we don't need to water the berries for fall-time yet. I'm hoping there will be these nice soakers every once in a while until the real cold comes. It will let the fruit plants get ready for the long cold & DRY winter.
'tP' went to Spokane this AM to bone doc for check-up; he's hoping the cast comes off today. There will be lots of physical therapy for him so he can get back up to speed "arm-wise", though.
I got the rest of the few apples we were able to harvest from out trees made into apple butter this weekend, too. I have a special "candy apple" recipe that I "unvented" - make the applesauce, add sugar to just a bit less than taste and then add cinnamon red-hot candies (the kind for decorating cookies, etc.) while the sauce is hot until you get the desired color and "cinnamony-ness" that you want. Cook down in crockpot or in the oven with door ajar until it is the thickness that you want. 'tP' really likes it this way; I often make applesauce with the red-hots in there as he likes that, too. Plus it's a really pretty color, LOL.
I've nearly finished the "siding" on the chickle house - it looks pretty funky as the $5 roofing material is in several colors - here's a picture with 2 colors, but there will be red, too when I'm done.

I also put primer on the door so as to get ready to paint it and put on the hinges. And there's also a picture of the inside, showing the roost.

Yes, I have those days when I'm not in the mood to write and tell the world about my life. I have to feel "up" to write. We were glad to see the soaking rain, too.

I have a co-worker here in Seattle, if you can believe, who just got 4 chickens herself. She's been enjoying the farm-fresh eggs. In Seattle it's A-OK to have chickens BUT it's against the law to have a rooster. Our neighbors in Lewiston had a rooster when I was growing up and let me tell you, a 4:30am wake-up call in the summer SHOULD be against the law!
