Well, I'm back

and things are REALLY busy as I catch up on all the stuff I need to do.

Winter has arrived here on the Palouse. First, however, we had a bad windstorm - some folks had damaged homes and autos - we just had power outage for about 20 hours. That's when it gets worrisome, no heat and no power to the freezer (could be bad if it is a long time). We do have water, candles, and a porpane stove, so good for some things. And as Brenda Dayne says "if you're cold, put on a sweater - that's what they're for".
I'll give a run-down of my trip and add some news around the homestead during the next several entries.
The biggest news is that I got a cute new puppy. She is another of those rescue dogs, LOL, but they seem to be the best kind. Again my DD got me the dog, LOL, she was visiting the Humane Society and someone came in with pups they had found while out hunting or such in the woods. Someone had apparently dumped them there, a brother & sister; another lady took the boy and K brought home the girl to find her a home. I could not resist!!! She is so-o-o-o cute. Daisy is, according to our vet, an English Sheepdog and probably a Austrailian Shepard mix. She is is black & white with some brown (the Aussie influence probably) and is gonna' be one big girl when she is grown. She's about 4 months old, but that is all we know. The vet gave her shots and I've arranged to get her spayed next month. She seems really smart and is very lovable. Picture as soon as I get them.

OK, my trip:
Day 1 - drove to Spokane to stay in a hotel for the night, as my flight left at 8:00 AM and I drive 90 miles from home - was not going to do that to get to airport before 7!
Day 2 - arrived in Orlando, FL. I was really tired - and it was the wrong way 'round, timewise, ie. 3 hours later! I really suffer from jet lag both ways. Met KareW and we drove (well she drove as she is familiar with FL traffic & big cities) to Cocoa Beach. She had a GPS for cars and we found our way to the first hotel stop with no trouble.
continued later.
