As I was getting ready to go to work I went to my closet to get my knitted, beaded shawl - thinking that is was pretty cool yesterday and it is the only large one I have - to wear at work today.
Imagine my HORROR as I took it down from the woolen shelf to find that the cat had been in there, and no it was not as simple as cat hair on everything, but she had chewed up the edge of the shawl, ie. part was missing in 2 areas as it had been folded over !!!!!!!!
I was in absolute tears and was so angry with that cat that I never wanted to see her again. It is a good thing she was out of the way or she would have gone on a long flight, launched by me. It cannot be repaired and I shall have to ravel it and splice all of the bites. That yarn was expensive and the shawl took me quite a while to make; I shall not just throw it away. But it will have to be after a bit as I still need to get over the shock and anger.
It's cold, dreary and rainy here, but better than lots of other places.
I find I forgot to take a picture of the #1GS GFs socks and only got one of the DS's SO socks from my phone (not a good pic) and shall have to get someone to take pictures for me so I can post. Ah, my leaky brain.

I got some really lovely things in the mail today: my December Spunky Eclectic Fiber club fiber; it's 4 oz of SW Corriedale dyed in a progression of greens & blues with a bit of spice - side 1 of the bump

I'm sorry to hear about your beautiful shawl. Your anger is understandable. Last year I thoughtlessly left a sports afghan my daughter made for my husband on the sofa when we closed the farmhouse for the winter. The mice ate a hole in it. I'm going to attempt a repair now that the holidays are over. I hated to tell our daughter what happened, but she was very gracious about it. "I'll never forget the time alone in my room as I made it," she said.
I am going to ravel it and attempt to mend the yarn, then re-knit it. But it is in a place for time-out while I get over being angry - I was afraid if I tried to do it right away, I might still get too upset.
