my PSA for today

In the Pullman area one can dispose of old prescription medicines by blacking out name on bottle & placing in plastic bag.  Then go to the Pullman Police Department lobby & put them into the drop box there.  They need to know the name of the medicine so as to determine how to dispose of it.
I'll bet other cities have a similar program.

I've been wondering about this myself. We have several virtually untouched medical prescriptions and we know we should dispose of them safely. Someone told me that one can take drop them off at a pharmacy for disposal but I have not confirmed that.

Well, our pharmacy gave me the information about the police department, I called them and they told me how to do it. I would try calling them first - the police dept, I mean.

My son in southern Idaho said he had heard a PSA that pharmacies in Boise would accept medications for disposal and that's where I got that idea. But you're right -- a phone call will answer the question of where to dispose in our various communities. Really -- it's dangerous to keep this stuff when one isn't going to use it.
