this is the story of our life at "Rosevale on the Palouse Prairie" in eastern Washington State, and my love affair with all things fiber/fabric. 'BeanQueen' you might ask, well in my previous life I was the curator of the Phaseolus Germplasm Collection (beans native to the western hemisphere) in the United States. My lovely #2 sister gifted me with my 'autre nom'.

We got our tree up & have lights on it - tomorrow we will put on the decorations. It is a spruce and looks really nice, even if it is a bit prickley. I don't have all the gifts wrapped & I need to get them off to Michael & Tamara on Monday so they will have them in time. I did get the cards off today though, so that is one chore done. I'm almost finished with the gifts, too; just have to get the money sent off to Doctors Without Borders for our "extended Welsh family" gift for this year. Mike's big gift is going to be the ladder he wants, but he'll get to pick it out himself. I am going to try to make some peanut brittle & some hard cinnamon candies tomorrow; it's going to be a full day as we're going to have chicken 'n' dumplings for supper. I have not made that particular dish in a long time, but my "egg guy" gave me one of his old hens & they are the best for that. I am distressed that I have not had much time to do my hobbies, plus I get so tired from work. Somehow I need to get myself in better order so I can have some fun, too. Maybe I'm just too particular about stuff & need to ease up a bit so I CAN have that time. I need to take some more of the FLYLADY's lessons to heart :~). We hope the holidays are looking up for all of you. m&m
