Picture of some of my other work & the week

Wanting to write in my blog and having not many pictures
to share that are here on the computer at work, I thought I'd share one of my nephew Eric R. and the quilt that I made for him.
After I got all of the needed wedding quilts, baby quilts, quilts for all of my 6 siblings- that's right count 'em, six, one for my wonderful parents, the quilts for my children and the first ones for my grandsons, I decided to start with the nephews & neices that hadn't married as of yet. So, when they do - or do not - they will have a quilt from "good ole' aunty molly", also.
Eric is the son of my #1 sister Elizabeth (Libby). [I have 3 sisters and 3 brothers, all younger, and I number them sequentually down in age.] He is same age as my DD Kate - 37 - and is somewhat of a free spirit. He spends much of his time travelling the world - works enough to get a handle on the next place he wishes to see & then off he goes. So, I decided he needed a smaller quilt to travel well. I put on the label that this was a gift to keep him warm in all his travels, but that he MUST bring it home again. I hope that will keep it in his hands for some time, anyway.
Much of our snow has melted, but there are still piles of the dirty stuff on the cold side of hills & buildings. It's only February, but one does wish spring could be here soon. There is a brave little primrose trying to bloom outside the north entry door of our building here. The poor thing must be just warm enough by being close to the building to not know that it is still winter out there.
All those seed catalogues just make one wish even more, but one can't be seduced into starting too early with planting around here. Just when it looks OK, then in sweeps a late winter storm & things get frosty little noses.
