and the sky is full of clouds with a forecast of mayhap some rain - AH yes! it's the Palouse.
I had quite a bit to do today. Shopping, gardens, food processing, and cleaning - and there will be more tomorrow. I picked green beans and am getting ready to can them, I picked more blueberries - got 1/2 pint, but they are nearly done - I also am fixing some plums that I picked from a tree in the parking lot at work (a long time ago the parking lot was a field behind the dairy barn on the campus and the caretaker had put in several plum trees - luckily they were not taken out when the field became a parking lot, but were preserved as part of the landscaping). They are small plums, good for eating and making some jam; that is what I am doing fixing them to make jam. I pulled some onions and will dry them out a bit, then put them into onion braids and hang them in the garage to be used this fall and winter. We dug potatoes - have a few more to do - and will store them in a bucket with holes in it for air movement; we'll hang them down in the crawl-space so they will be cool and in the dark until we use them.
Tomorrow I will do a bit more processing and more house cleaning. Then I need to work on my quilting group stuff - being President means there are several projects for me that are not for the regular members, LOL. Plus, I want to make a special project for members to participate if they want - I'm thinking of doing some old-fashioned blocks and give a bit of block history with the patterns. I also want to include a scrap of fabric from my stash that will tie the whole thing together. I hope the members like the idea and want to join in the fun.
Then there is my ever on-going projects AND my ironing & mending. It seems that there is no end in sight :~).
