Busy day here on the old homestead

After the morning shopping and getting supplies for working on the chicken house, we worked around the place. 'tP' mowed lawn and helped pick beans and berries. I prepared fruit for drying and making some fruit butters. I have dried pears, apples and plums for winter-time goodness and am making apple/pear butter for a great accompaniment to homemade whole-grain bread (the only kind we have here at our house).
Tomorrow will be baking day and canning & freezing of veggies. I hope to work a bit on the chicken house and get some sewing in too.

Sounds like more than I could do in a day. Probably I would never get to the "vintage sewing room."

I dried pears this fall, but I buy them. We have old apple trees on our homestead, an old pear tree (not bearing much this year), and a new Montmorency pie cherry tree.
