Some pretty flowers in my "water tower".
The garden is winding down. I have all of the onions out - It was a GREAT harvest.
The coles are just about finished - just a couple heads of cabbage and cauliflower, plus a few sid-shoots on the broccoli left - the cucumbers have nearly given up the ghost - that fungus is just too much for them-I plan to harvest the last little ones this weekend, then pull them out. There are a moderate amount of beans left, but fungus is getting to them, too, so they will not be far behind the cukes. The tomato is nearly done with giving us the fruit it could produce - I generally bring them in to ripen just in case it gets too cold even for the row cover - and the leeks will be harvested this weekend, too-I plan to freeze them for later batches of soup, etc.
There are a few potatoes left, but the vines have not died yet, so
The corn has performed so wonderfully - I put 4 pints of cream corn in the freezer, we've been eating it & giving it away and there is still some to go! Oh yes, I nearly forgot the swiss chard - it will be producing greens up until frost - nice to have fresh greens! I've dried all of the fruit we harvested from the "wild" and now just await the prunes up the hill - they usually are not good until after the first frost.
The chicken house is coming along slowly - I plan to take Friday off from work and see how much I can finish on it. I have to put in the openings for the yard and for the entry to the "chicken tractor", then put on the plywood for the walls and decide what to put on that surface, ie. whether to paint or to put on some sort of barrier like the roof.
'tP' is off one-handed bowling tonight. He is getting incredibly bored without having to work. I guess there is only so much "puttering" one can do.
I am working on the shirt for the #2 GS, knitting myself some socks, and spinning the NZ long-wool-in the hobby department. I wish I had more time for that sort of thing. I have been trying to figure how to have more time and have decided to limit SEVERELY my time on the internet. Way too much Facebook and one really does not need that. I enjoy my blogging and my time on Ravelry, but will try to be realistic about that also. Wish me luck!!

I de-activated my Facebook account. I just didn't enjoy it that much. But I have learned to journal through blogging and love it, whether or not I have followers.
