And it's back 'round to Monday again...................

It is cool & rainy here now.  The "chickie-doodles" do not like it one bit.  They so want to be outside - clustering around the gate to the pen when I come out to see them - but the rain puts a damper on some of their enthusiasm.  They'll come out and scratch a bit, then run under the neighbor's trees to wait for a clearing.

I'm working away at the organization today as tomorrow I plan to go to the off-site farm (from my old job) to gather some walnuts.  There are lots of trees there and very few folks take advantage of them - they were germplasm "storage" for many years before it was moved to CA.  There are some great nuts there and I've premission (& blessing actually) to gather some each year.

More crafts to come; I've started on the quilt for little Hazel.  It will be flannel with a soft fleece backing.  Have not worked with flannel for quite some time & forgot that it can be tricky as it stretches in ways one does not expect sometimes.

I blocked the Travelling Woman Shawl, too.  Now just have the Haruni to do.  I'm going to have to figure out how to wear them more since I have quite the collection now.  I love making them, too.

Interesting post. Why is it that folks don't bother with the walnuts? We picked some up off the street in our neighborhood as it was obvious no one cared about them. We thought they were very good.
