HAPPY BOXING DAY!

Did you get some "after Christmas" deals?  I went out to see if I could get some more decorations at the 'half-price' sale.  Also, the Grammy G's Quilt Shop had an after holiday sale.  I had wanted to go get a kit for one of the quilts that our group makes to contribute to the "Quilts of Valor" and got in on some good deals, too.  (I was a spending fool - not usual for me, but sometimes it's good to do it, LOL.)

Our holiday celebration was very nice.  'tP' & I had the DD, the #2GS, the #1GS & GF, plus little 'Hazel bug' for gift opening and for supper, too.  We got some lovely gifts and enjoyed the family opening up theirs.  We had "roast beast", ham, potatoes & gravy, carrot-raisin salad, cheddar-garlic biscuits, 'tP's "fruit fluff" & a couple kinds of pie - lots of really good food!

                                            FRUIT FLUFF
1 pkg strawberry 'Jello'                     Drain fruit, save juice.  Dissolve gelatin in 1 cup of
1 can fruit cocktail in juice                boiling water.  Stir in fruit juice and put into the
1 pt heavy whipping cream               refrigerator until thickened (not stiff).  Fold in the

¼ cup sugar                                   fruit and set back in refrigerator while whipping
cream:  whip cream to soft peaks, add sugar &
whip until stiff peaks form.  Fold gelatin mixture into
cream & put in refrigerator until set.  Serve as
                                                               spooned out of bowl.

And here's a photo of the completed baby sweater for my nephew's little one.

Plus, the latest incarnation of Mother Bear Project bears.  This is Dennis, the default knitted bear - I have misplaced my crochet pattern and had to go back to knitted, LOL.

Darling bear! And the sweater's cute, too. Thank you for the pics and the recipe. My husband often talks of the "Jello fluff" his mother used to make. He thinks she didn't use cream.

I like to get out after the holidays and check for bargains, but I rarely buy much. +

Kathy,

Mike thinks his mother used kool whip of some such, but I don't like to use that so modified it to real cream.

Aha! The truth comes out.

When I say "Jello Fluff" to my Mike, he says, "I love that stuff." I told him about the recipe you posted, and he said his mother didn't use cream, though I think it was before the Cool Whip era. It might have been Dream Whip or even whipped evaporated milk.
