Busy and HOT!

I have not been able to get to blogging for a few days.  It has been so busy here; we had 'tP's sister here for 3 days, it was the #2 GS's birthday on Sunday, there's been garden produce to prepare, and it's just been so hot that as the day is over all one wants to do is to sit inside and be cool.
'tP' & his sister are off to Montana & North Dakota to view some land that they have inherited-it is on & near the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation.
I decided not to go as there is so much that can't be left for 3 weeks at this time of year.  He wanted to use up all of his remaining vacation before he retires on July 31 - so off they went!
I've picked & picked strawberries - the hot weather made them explode - and have frozen 8 & 1/2 Qts.  I am making jam from old berries so I don't get my freezer full of "old fruit".  I also had to process spinach as the hot weather made it want to bolt immeadiately!  There was 4 pts in one batch and another pint in a second.  There are beet greens & chard that will be ready, too, as well as lettuce before it bolts, too.  LOTS of salads, I expect.

Here's some photos of the #2 GS's birthday party.

Hi drMolly,
You left me a nice comment last week on my blog but I cannot reply to it as you are listed as a "No reply blogger". I found you though! :)
To answer your question, yes I believe that you will not be able to read blogs on your blogger.com feed. You have probably noticed that already. I miss Google Reader as it was so easy to use.
I made jam myself with blueberries I picked locally last week and it turned out great. It is pretty hot here too in Southern California but as I do not live too far from the ocean, I'm lucky that it's not too hot.

I don't blame you for not wanting to leave your garden at this time. I've been away from my raised beds for several days, and I'm concerned about them. Sorry you missed the trip, but sometimes, as much as we love the people in our lives, it's nice to march to your own drummer, as it were.
