Good morning Monday!

We went yesterday for a trip to the mountains - had a nice picnic, let msDaisy run in the woods, and got some huckleberries.
All-in-all an enjoyable day-off from the work around the place.

Well, I've learned a hard lesson in the garden.  I did not use my usual cages around the broccoli and cabbage.  I just put the netting around the poles that we have in the garden beds.  Unfortunately, the aphids got in there and ruined some of the broccoli. This year I couldn't find any really clear plastic for the tomato greenhouse so had to use the translucent painter's plastic.  The tomatoes got all leggy and one of them broke off this morning - and of course, it was the one with tomatoes on it.
On a positive note there are cucumbers and green beans coming on!

OOO! Huckleberrying and a picnic -- what fun!

Too bad about the garden. Tomatoes in town are setting on, but summer squash and cukes seem very slow.
