And the COLD commences

So far we’ve had ~1” of snow & VERY cold temps for this time of year around here.

The mister & I got all the emergency winterizing done, including the motor home!, before it dumped on us.  We were not expecting to have to do it all in one day !  Good thing I had all of the veg out of the garden, although I nearly forgot to plant the garlic.  I was putting it in as the snow started.

I have been working on msH’s bat costume.  The pattern said size 7-14, but I think it’s going to be too big.  I hope we can pin it up to be used.  The poor mite broke her elbow last weekend when she took a tumble from her motorcycle.  Now horse riding lessons are on hold & she has to dance in a cast again. 👎👎👎

Other than having to stay in we are not affected yet by the virus, but one can never tell what may occur.     I am praying that once the election is over we have a new leader who can help us get through this.  It is very scarey in our country right now.

The garden & orchard/berries gave us bumper crops of fruit & veg this year.  There’s winter pears, carrots & beets stored in the garage ‘frig.  I canned early pears, green beans, tomatoes & beets, and froze corn, greens & berries.  We have onions, garlic, 4 squash & 17! pumpkins stored too.  All these came from our backyard, plus I canned peaches that I had purchased from farmer’s market.

I always enjoy following your weather and garden. Glad you got it all picked/pulled. I still have some tomatoes and peppers to pick, and finish the root veggies. I dont expect snow for a while, but I dont think we'll be able to dodge next weeks frost.

Take care.
