Thursday, September 10 - ALREADY???

"the Rosevale on the Palouse chronicles" - Well, the neighborhood has experienced its first frost - luckily we had the "plastic house" over the cucumbers, tomatoes, & peppers so they were spared. But, lots of people lost their pumpkin patches & tomato plants. The apples that have survived the fireblight are getting ready to be harvested & made into all sorts of good things. We are preparing to do some work on the future corn patch, too.

"tales of drMolly the Phaseolus curator" - The virus testing has not slowed down yet as we are consistently adding more new accessions into the increase cycles. The CORE lines from CIAT have not showed up yet - I shall have to write to APHIS to find out when they will be cleared there. On the lighting front; we seem to have almost all of the hurdles done - it shall be so nice to have that improvement in light quality for the day-length sensitive lines.
"post office patter" - Finally, the start school push that brings so much mail into the PO has dropped back a little, but "the Postman" is still doing quite a bit of overtime. It sure helps on the paycheck, but just as surely interfers with the work at home. He has a bit more to do on the main color painting on the house & is going to try to start on the trim. Maybe or maybe not will be successful ;~).
"hobbies, hobbies, hobbies" - OTN:
Carefreekal Mystery Sock KAL - at the gusset decreases

The Woman's Textured Sleeveless Pullover http://www.cascadeyarns.com/patternsFree/C179_Greenland.pdf
the ribbing & beginning the pattern for some KALs on Ravelry in which I am participating:
I'm on the gusset decreases for a pair of OD regulation socks in the SFS group (forgot to take picture from the camera, will do later).
And in a holding pattern: the FLS, Bob Sweater, & Top-down cardi.
Spinning the rest of the BlueVelvet roving is also holding; I seem to have too many "irons in the fire". At the planning stage: some gifts for Christmas, finishing a skirt in the sewing room, and a quilt for my #4 nephew.
We just got back from our last camping trip for this year & are preparing the trailer for its rest over the winter. Because of "the Postman's" overtime we have not been able to go cycling lately, but hopefully can get back into it before the really cold weather gets going. It's pretty cool in the mornings when riding "Howard Harley" into work, too - I'm not sure how long I will be able to do that, although I'm sure the DH will go longer .
