And it's back to snow

after an lovely taste of the real Spring yesterday - sun and temperatures in the 60's.

Ah well, it is the Palouse after all - just after I took the heated water dishes from the chickens and the rabbit, too.

I still have not decided what we shall have for Easter supper - should it be ham or poultry or ??? I will talk to 'tP' tonight and we'll decide.

I've nearly completed the quilting on the Color Challenge-Fuschia for the Palouse Patchers' 2012 Quilt Show. Then I have to try to get the "Friends are Blooms in the FlowerPots of Life" wall hanging done, too. I told my friends I would enter it and I even signed up to do so. Oh I know it won't be a tragedy if I don't get it in, but.....................

I enjoy a nice Easter ham, but it's up in the air what we'll do.

Heated water dishes...how are they heated? They say batteries shouldn't be left in the cold, so surely that's not it. I never thought about this necessity!

Hallie, They are the plug-in variety. For the chickens I use a "dog" water dish that I got at my feed store-recommended by one of the fellows who works there; he told me he's used it for several years for his chickens. For the bunny I bought a plug-in water bottle with a pressure nipple, similar to one with on "plug-in", from an on-line pet supply place. It requres use of long extension cords that I run from the garage out to the pens. A "pain", I know, but beats hauling and thawing buckets & dishes twice a day "all to heck"!

We had the Easter dinner discussion, too. Mike will grill a pork roast and I'll fix cheese grits and asparagus. I'll use the last of the frozen raspberries to make a dessert. We had a hard freeze here in the valley last night, but better weather seems to be on the way.

Still thinking about my '30s suit... I'm slow to action.
