Off to my folks for a week

Next Sunday is my dad's 87th birthday and I'm off to help celebrate, plus to visit with my mum.  I hope to be able to get some more information on her medical issues and to be able to help out a bit, too.  My sibs who live in the area are picking up most of the burden and I want to give them some support, too.

It's back to rainy weather here & forcast is for MoS, so I guess the fruit trees will wait until I get back home.  'tP' isn't over his illness yet anyway, so when I get back he will be able to help me more.

I finished the test knit mittens and sent off the pictures and information to the designer.  She was pleased that all her knitters had few, if any, problems with her design (& now I have mittens for next winter, too!).  I'm still working on the shawlette/scarf test knit - I am behind all of the other testers, but the designer still wants the input so I'm hurrying to finish.

While there, I plan to finalize my water quilt design for our group challenge and to cast-on the Pomme de pin Cardigan by Amy Christoffers.  I'm using the Cestari traditional wool that I purchased at our LYS - the Yarn Underground.

Here you are a great-grandma, and you're going off to spend a week with your parents. What a blessing!
